Experienced family law attorney and mediator
Since her graduation in 2008, Monique Beijersbergen has been working as an attorney specializing in family law. She deals with cases in the field of persons and family law in the broadest sense of the word.
Monique also handles many international divorces. As an attorney and mediator, she assists expats with their divorce. Since the spring of 2022, Monique has been working on the post-graduate specialization course in international family law of the Institute for Mediation and Family Law Training (IMFO).
Monique has successfully completed the legal training in family law, the legal specialization in family law and the mediation training of the Association of Family and Inheritance Lawyers and Divorce Mediators (vFAS). Since then, as a divorce mediator, Monique guides future ex-partners during their divorce or separation in making agreements.
In 2017, Monique successfully completed the specialization training in special curator in juvenile cases. Since then, she has been regularly appointed by the court as a special trustee in parentage cases.
Focus
The starting point is always to reach good agreements in mutual consultation. When this proves impossible, Monique assists her clients in legal proceedings. She does her utmost for her clients. Monique’s working method is characterized by involvement, quality and a solution-oriented approach.
Monique is a member of the Association of Family Lawyers and Divorce Mediators (vFAS) and the regional coordinator The Hague and Leiden of the vFAS. She also works as a contributor to the journal Family Law (RFR) and annotator for the journal Jurisprudence in the Netherlands (JIN).
Goal
Monique wants to reach a practical and long term solution for your problem. Outside the court if possible, through the court if necessary. In both cases in good cooperation with you. After all, you have your own responsibility in finding a (sustainable) solution for the problem you are experiencing. She will advise, guide, support and, if necessary, represent you throughout the process.
Monique Beijersbergen has registered in the Register of Legal Entities of the Dutch Bar Association (NOvA) the legal area Persons and Family Law in the following main and sub legal areas:

- Private international law;
- International child abduction;
- Youth protection law;
- Mediation;
- Parenting and recognition
Because of this registration, Monique is required to obtain ten training points in her area of law each calendar year according to the standards of the Bar Association.
